Lessons are taught year round and are scheduled by reservation only. We schedule around the ocean tide and swell conditions. If the tide is low enough we teach the lessons at Ledbetter on the west side of Santa Barbara. If the swell is small and the tide is not low enough for Ledbetter to be surfable, we move the lessons over to the Campus Point area north of Santa Barbara. When you schedule a lesson we will give specific directions to where the conditions will be best for the day of your lesson and to meet your instructor. To make a reservation, please call our office ahead of time at (805) 687-9785 or (805) 452-2451 between the hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm PST. Or send us an e-mail at indicating the day(s) you’re looking at.

Register early, because classes can fill up fast — especially on weekends, and during the summer. Students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Surfboards and wetsuits are provided during the lesson.

Soft boards (Softops) from Surftech and Doyle ranging from 7′ to 10′ are used for beginners.

Wetsuits are provided by Billabong, a surfing company that puts out the warmest, most flexible suits in the world.
